COVID-19 Update

July 1st

We are resuming in person events with limited attendance and following local guidelines. We suggest all members and guests where a mask to any indoor event and maintain 6 feet of social distance.

Any meeting providing food will either be pre-packaged or served by staff wearing masks and gloves. We will limit the number of attendees at each table and provide virtual options whenever available. We hope to continue to provide events to our members to assist in personal and professional development.
May 1st

I hope you are all healthy and safe right now. I have certainly missed seeing you at various Cable functions!

Our original plan was to postpone any Cable functions through May 1st (or transition them to a virtual setting). Following the President’s Advisory Council meeting and Cable board meeting this week, we have decided to extend that practice until June 30th. This was a decision made with the well being and safety of our members in mind.

Our May breakfast meeting will be held virtually, and I invite you to join us at 9 AM on May 12th on Facebook live (RUTHERFORD Cable page) to hear from Mila Grigg on personal branding. This is a free, open event so feel free to bring along your friends and co-workers!

Our June breakfast meeting will also be held virtually. While this is typically our awards breakfast, we have decided to postpone the awards portion until our August breakfast meeting when we can (hopefully) be together in person.

The ATHENA awards ceremony, originally scheduled for April 17th, has now been re-scheduled for September 16th. We look forward to celebrating all of the nominees at this time and I am so grateful to the ATHENA committee for their diligence during this time.

Our original plans for a May 19th bunco night and a June 25th hot topics will be postponed. The mentor program graduation is expected to be rescheduled for July.

Any committee meetings between now and June 30th should be transitioned to a virtual setting. I really encourage the committees to lean into one another to continue to carry Cable forward – committees are where the true advancement of the organization takes place!

March 30th

I hope this message finds you healthy and safe. While it has certainly been an unusual two weeks, I am reminded more than ever of the resiliency and adaptability of our membership.

That being said, while our April breakfast meeting while not be able to move forward as an in-person meeting due to the COVID-19-related closing of Stones River Country Club, our Programs Committee is working to bring you a virtual edition of the Cable breakfast meeting. Please continue to hold the regularly scheduled breakfast meeting time on your calendar and stay tuned for more information.

In addition, we will be looking to bring you additional content and connection opportunities in a virtual capacity over the next few weeks. Each week, a new topic will be introduced (for example, customer service) and we encourage you to share articles, advice, videos, etc. related to that topic in our Facebook members-only page. You will also receive information soon about virtual networking opportunities through our Networking Committee.

Also, our April 30th member orientation will transition to an online platform; Stephanie Kusch, Membership Services and Retention Chair, will provide more information soon. The April 17th ATHENA Luncheon and the April 22nd  mentor program graduation are postponed to a later date, for now.

March 17th

I hope this email finds you healthy and well. I am sure you are all aware of recent developments related to COVID-19. Our priority is the safety, health, and well being of our members, and as a result there will be several schedule changes in the coming weeks related to Cable events and activities.

Now through April 3rd, we will cancel/postpone any scheduled in-person events, including:
  • March 18 – Mentor Meeting
  • March 19 – Networking Luncheon
  • March 25 – ATHENA Patrons Party (The committee is working to reschedule this for a later date.)
  • Committee Meetings – Please conduct any committee meetings by phone or digital platform now through April 3rd.
Also, we are communicating with SRCC regarding our April breakfast meeting, and have plans to postpone the April 17th ATHENA Awards ceremony. More to come shortly as we navigate those logistics.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will be in touch regarding any additional changes beyond April 3rd. I appreciate your flexibility at this time as we encounter a rapidly changing environment.
