Mentoring:  What it Is, what it Isn’t, and Why it’s Important

The word "mentor" has evolved from a noun to describe "a typically older, more experienced professional guiding a younger protegee" to a verb describing an action that is dynamic, intentional and beneficial to both mentor and mentee. Whether people are entering the workforce for the first time, looking to change or enhance their careers or simply mastering a new skill, the mentoring relationship can be key to achieving short-term and long-term goals.
